Pediatric Emergency Department Nurse Schedule Rotating shift schedules including days, evenings, and nights, with weekend and holiday requirements. On-call and callback duties may be required based on unit needs. A commitment of 48 hours per week is strongly preferred. Unit Overview The Pediatric Emergency Department (Peds ED) provides family-centered care for patients under the age of 19, addressing urgent and emergent medical issues at a Level 1 pediatric trauma and burn center.

The unit consists of: 18 general care beds 1 critical care bed 4 urgent care beds A shared 7-bed trauma bay with the adult Emergency Department The tertiary care environment involves a diverse case mix, accommodating everything from treat-and-release visits to acute critical care and trauma management. Staff are trained to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging healthcare setting. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York is required Minimum of 2 years of experience in a pediatric emergency department is required BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required PALS certification from the American Heart Association is required ACLS certification from the American Heart Association is required Experience in burn care is highly desirable NIHSS certification is required Preferred Certifications TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) ATCN (Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses) ABLS (Advanced Burn Life Support)
