Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (RN) Job Description We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department. This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients across various age groups, including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. Unit Information The Emergency Department is geared towards addressing a wide range of critical conditions such as: Stroke Sepsis Trauma Myocardial Infarction (MI) Cardiac Arrest Respiratory Failure Patient Care Responsibilities Nurses in this role will focus on delivering quality patient care, assessment, and intervention appropriate to the patients’ needs.
The position requires a high level of clinical expertise and the ability to think critically in fast-paced situations. Qualifications Must possess an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York. Must have a minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience, including pediatric care. Current certifications in AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC are mandatory. Experience using electronic medical records, specifically EPIC.
Valid driver’s license that matches residency demographics. Completion of a skills checklist matching the specialty is required. Additional Information Shift hours are from 14:30 to 03:00, and floating to other departments may be required based on operational needs. The designated scrub color for this position is navy blue. Specialty equipment utilized in the unit includes a Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun for patient warming and fluid management.
