San Juan Capistrano, California Primary Care Physician Opening - 20 Minutes from Irvine Position Overview An established and highly regarded Federally Qualified Health Center is seeking a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician to join its collaborative, patient-centered primary care team in San Juan Capistrano, California. This is an outpatient-only opportunity serving patients of all ages in a growing clinic environment.
The organization operates multiple locations throughout Orange County and provides integrated medical, behavioral-health, case-management, referral, and care-coordination services. Position Details Outpatient-only primary care position. Full-time schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., totaling 40 hours per week. One extended clinic day per week, 12:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. Potential Saturday rotation as the clinic continues to expand.
Shared, light call coverage with RN triage support; physicians average approximately two calls per week. Start date as soon as possible; the organization is open to experienced physicians and new graduates. Preference for candidates with at least two years of post-residency experience. See patients of all ages. Provide care for acute and chronic primary-care conditions. Perform routine in-office procedures, including Pap tests, incision and drainage, skin biopsies, cryotherapy, toenail removal, basic suturing, and suture removal.
Current EMR: Allscripts/Veradigm, with a planned transition to Epic. Work alongside physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, medical assistants, case managers, referral specialists, behavioral-health professionals, and care-coordination staff. Qualifications M.D. or D.O. Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine. Board certification is strongly preferred.
Board-eligible candidates will be considered if they obtain certification within two years of hire. Current BLS certification required. Eligible for medical licensure in California. Comfortable providing comprehensive primary care for pediatric through geriatric patients. Commitment to team-based, evidence-based, culturally responsive care.
