As a Scheduling Modeller, you'll play an important role in supporting our scheduling and logistics operations through transport modelling, data analysis, and continuous improvement. Working closely with colleagues across the business, you'll develop and maintain Paragon models, analyse operational data, explore future scenarios, and provide insights that help inform decision-making. This role offers the opportunity to combine technical expertise with practical problem-solving while contributing to projects that support operational efficiency and future growth.
Why This Role? This is an opportunity to work at the heart of a fast-paced logistics operation, where your analysis, modelling, and recommendations can make a real difference. You'll collaborate with colleagues from a range of functions, contribute to meaningful projects, and help develop smarter ways of working. Whether you're exploring new scenarios, improving reporting processes, or supporting operational planning, you'll have the chance to build your skills and see the impact of your work.
What You'll Do: Develop and maintain transport planning and scheduling models to support operational planning, resource management, network reviews, and future supply chain initiatives. Analyse operational, customer, and scheduling data to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and practical recommendations that support informed decision-making. Create and enhance databases, reporting tools, automation processes, and planning resources that improve accuracy, efficiency, and visibility across the Scheduling function.
Collaborate with colleagues across multiple departments to support planning projects, operational queries, schedule reviews, and service improvements. Use tools such as SQL, VBA, Excel, and other business systems to streamline processes, validate data, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Produce clear reports, insights, and recommendations that help stakeholders understand performance, capacity requirements, and operational impacts.
Support the maintenance of scheduling data, documentation, training materials, and best practice processes to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing. You have experience with transport planning, scheduling, modelling software such as Paragon, or comparable solutions, and enjoy solving complex operational challenges. You are comfortable working with data and have experience using tools such as SQL, Excel, Power Query, VBA, or similar technologies to support analysis and reporting.
You can interpret complex information and communicate insights clearly to a variety of audiences. You bring strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a structured approach to problem-solving. You enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues across different teams and building positive working relationships. You are adaptable, organised, and able to manage changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
