Job Description The main purpose of the job is to support the delivery of Option one and two of the Self-Directed Support Act (2013) including providing information, advice and support regarding managing Option1 (Direct Payment) and Option 2, and the roles and responsibilities that come with each option. The post-holder will also be responsible for ad hoc tasks which may arise from the implementation.

Requirements This post is considered to be a Regulated Role' under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Under the Act it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme. Therefore the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.

Responsibilities To support the delivery of the SDS Standards through the SDS Implementation Plan in relation to Option 1 and 2 of SDS To provide information, promotion, advice and support in relation to Option 1 and 2 on behalf of Health and Social Care Moray. To monitor and report progress with the uptake of Option 1 and 2 and the recruitment of Personal Assistants. To work collaboratively with all partners, including internal and external teams and agencies.

To develop supports aimed at enabling and empowering people who are considering, or are in receipt of Option 1 and 2. To undertake financial reviews where Direct Payments are in place and to alert CCO/SW/SDS Officer of any irregularities found during the review. To undertake other relevant duties associated with this position. The Individual Knowledge of SDS Policy/Legislation Experience of multi-agency working SVQ Level 3/HNC in Social Care or equivalent* Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to communicate with people taking into account of their support needs A working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications - e.g.

Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access Self-confident and self-motivated Demonstrate an ability to work on a number of tasks at one time Demonstrate an ability to achieve deadlines Flexibility Ability to work with a minimum of supervision. Ability to prioritise tasks and workload Ability to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car/van. Ability to promote the rights of people we support in relation to Direct Payments Ability to empower Direct payment recipients and encourage independence within legal constraints Demonstrate competence in personal organisational and time management skills Ability to work as part of a team.
