As a Senior AWS Infrastructure Engineer, you'll use your deep technical expertise to design, build, and support secure, scalable infrastructure environments across both cloud and on-premise platforms. Working within a highly collaborative technical team, you'll play a key role in delivering resilient Linux-based infrastructure solutions that support mission-critical services for public sector and defence customers, ensuring compliance, security, and operational excellence across highly regulated environments.
Responsibilities: Lead the design, implementation, and support of secure AWS infrastructure platforms with a strong focus on Linux systems, enterprise infrastructure services, and cloud-native best practices Design and manage AWS services, and cloud-native best practices Design and manage AWS services including EC2, VPCs, IAM, Route53, CloudWatch, S3, EBS, Load Balancers, Auto Scaling, and backup/recovery solutions in line with public sector and defence security requirements Manage and optimise Linux server environments, ensuring high availability, hardening, patching, performance, and compliance with security standards and operational policies Support and maintain core infrastructure technologies including networking, middleware, DNS, VPNs, monitoring, logging, and enterprise tooling Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to integrate AWS infrastructure solutions into CI/CD pipelines and operational support models Contribute to infrastructure automation initiatives using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tooling such as Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation Support containerised workloads and orchestration platforms including Kubernetes, Docker, and orchestration platforms including Kubernetes, Docker, and CRI-O across secure and scalable environments Implement and support AWS security best practices, including IAM policies, encryption, network segmentation, logging, including IAM policies, encryption, network segmentation, logging, auditing, and vulnerability remediation Monitor infrastructure health, availability, security, and capacity using enterprise monitoring and logging platforms such as Splunk and CloudWatch Support disaster recovery, backup, business continuity, and resilience strategies across AWS and hybrid infrastructure environments Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical standards, operational documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives Contribute to infrastructure strategy, operational roadmaps, cloud migration, and platform modernisation programmes within regulated public sector and defence environments Join our team and play a key role in delivering scalable, secure, and resilient AWS infrastructure solutions that support critical business operations and long-term growth.

Required technical and professional expertise Strong experience administering and troubleshooting enterprise Linux environments Broad infrastructure knowledge across Linux, Windows, networking, middleware, and systems integration Proven experience delivering resilient infrastructure solutions within complex enterprise environments Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) provisioning and automated environment deployment using Terraform and related automation tools.
