The position evaluates profitability by customer, segment, product, country, corridor, and key general ledger category to identify opportunities for stronger returns, improved cost efficiency, and sustainable financial performance.
Working on behalf of the International CFO, the role connects country Finance teams with Group Finance, Product Finance, Segment Finance, Tax, Capital Management, and other specialist functions. It also contributes to strategic initiatives, financial governance, management information, transformation programs, and country-level decision-making. Key Responsibilities * Develop and maintain profitability analysis models for International Banking.
* Identify the principal drivers of revenue, cost, profitability, and returns. * Analyze financial performance across customer segments, sectors, products, countries, and locations. * Evaluate customer-level profitability and identify low-return relationships requiring management attention. * Explain why profitability and costs have changed rather than limiting reporting to financial outcomes. * Perform scenario analysis to assess potential future financial performance.
* Conduct ad hoc analysis in response to specific strategic or management questions. * Translate financial data into actionable insights for senior decision-makers. * Support country strategy development through evidence-based financial analysis. * Provide indicators covering profitability, costs, returns, and performance across target segments and products. * Contribute financial insight to country and International Banking performance reviews.
* Support CAGR projections and longer-term business planning. * Assist the International CFO in establishing a disciplined financial review framework across international locations. * Support profitability optimization and transformation programs affecting International Banking. * Act as the primary finance contact representing the International CFO for relevant optimization initiatives. * Review monthly International Banking financial results.
* Analyze trends across products, segments, countries, corridors, key clients, and major GL accounts. * Investigate unusual financial movements and abnormal trends. * Challenge unexplained variances reported by country Finance teams. * Assess the integrity and consistency of financial information received from international locations. * Review reported results from accounting, taxation, regulatory, Group, and country perspectives.
