Significant experience of enterprise scale macOS or other operating systems. Significant experience of understanding and balancing complex and diverse customer needs, taking accountability for delivering high quality services that adhere to legal, regulatory and security standards.
Significant experience of driving continuous improvement in processes, standards and ways of working across teams and engineering communities. Significant experience of challenging and influencing suppliers and peers on technology choices and design patterns, providing alternative recommendations to support effective decision making. Significant experience of providing technical leadership, coaching and mentoring junior Infrastructure Engineers, developing team capability and creating a culture of continuous learning, collaboration and high performance.
You and your role If you love solving tricky problems, working with cutting-edge kit, and making a real impact, this could be the role for you. You'll be part of a close knit, collaborative team that supports thousands of users across the UK, from engineers building digital solutions to citizens using devices in Jobcentres. We manage macOS environments, explore new tech and deliver smart, user-focused solutions.
You'll get stuck into everything from third-line support to designing and improving infrastructure products like MacOS, Jamf and ChromeOS. We're looking for someone with solid technical experience in large enterprise environments, a curious mind, and a passion for making things better. Details Location: Our brilliant digital hub in Manchester, right in the heart of the city centre, easily accessible by tram, bus or rail. Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub. Pay: Up to £73,205 Pension: Civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%, over £16,000 per year. Holidays: Starting at 26 days, rising to 31 days over time, plus up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time and all the usual public holidays.
