Description Overview:This position is located at our corporate office in Raleigh, NC. We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Senior Inventory Accountant with the ability to thrive in our fast paced, growing organization. This individual must be able to identify and resolve problems both independently and as a part of a team. Effective verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization along with strong organizational and time management ability are also required.
Responsibilities:Responsible for inventory item master setup and integrity within JDE for finished goods and work in process Responsible for interface errors/balancing between JDE and sub-systemsResponsible for preparation of intercompany profit elimination within inventory across multiple product lines Responsible for SOX scoping activities in regards to review of finished goods reserves and raw materialsAssist with puchase accounting for acquired inventoryProvide assistance to field for item processing, reporting, best practices and policyConduct account analysis, including researching and explaining fluctuations and preparing account reconciliationsProvide assistance with quarterly and annual reporting as neededPrepare internal and external reporting and analysis on an ad-hoc basisEvaluate and recommend new approaches and procedures that result in process improvements and efficienciesMaintain company accounting procedures and processes Work in cross-functional teams to ensure inventory policies and procedures are consistently being followed Ensure compliance with all internal processes Adhere to SOX compliance and other special projects as determined Qualifications and Skills:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA a plusMinimum of 5 year of relevant experience; Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience with CPA/Masters degreeThorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Must be a self-starter and a quick learner who can work independently and as a part of a team with minimal supervision Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge including pivot tables, vlookups and data analysisPrevious experience with JDE, Query functionality and Report writers a plusGood planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize workload Effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, to individuals at all levels of the organizationA member of the S&P 500 Index, Martin Marietta is an American-based company and a leading supplier of heavy building materials - including aggregates, cement, ready-mixed concrete and asphalt.
