Join a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer as a Senior Counsel, providing strategic legal support to a UK-based commercial organisation operating within one of the world's most heavily regulated industries. Job Overview: This is a high-profile role for an experienced in-house lawyer, offering broad exposure to commercial, regulatory, data privacy and competition law matters, while partnering with senior stakeholders across the business.

You'll play a key role in managing complex legal risk, supporting innovative business initiatives including AI, and driving legal process improvements within a fast-paced, global environment. Contract Details: Location: London (minimum 2 days onsite per week preferred) Contract Length : 6 months with potential extension Rate: £920 per day (inside IR35) Key Responsibilities Provide strategic legal advice supporting the commercialisation of medicines within the UK market.

Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including services, sponsorship, collaboration, distribution and NHS-facing contracts. Advise on NHS collaborations, grants, sponsorship arrangements, reimbursement models, supply chain matters and investigator-sponsored research. Act as a trusted legal partner to stakeholders across commercial, marketing, medical, compliance, corporate affairs, market access and innovation teams.

Support business initiatives involving AI, data protection and emerging technologies. Serve as Deputy Data Protection Officer, providing guidance on UK and EU data privacy matters. Identify and manage legal and compliance risks while driving practical, commercially focused solutions and process improvements. Key Requirements Qualified solicitor with a current SRA Practising Certificate, or an overseas practising certificate supported by significant UK legal experience.

8+ years PQE with substantial in-house commercial legal experience. Essential experience supporting a UK pharmaceutical or biotechnology organisation, particularly within sales, marketing and NHS-facing activities. Strong knowledge of the ABPI Code, competition law, and UK/EU data privacy legislation. Proven experience advising on NHS collaborations, sponsorships, grants, reimbursement, supply chain and related commercial arrangements.

Demonstrated ability to influence and build relationships across complex, cross-functional organisations. Comfortable handling a broad range of legal matters, from day-to-day advisory work through to complex and high-risk issues. Start Date: ASAP
