About the Role: The Senior Specialist, Data Analysis and Visualization plays a critical role in advancing the Clearinghouse’s ability to unlock and deliver value from data.
This role is responsible for leading data analysis and visualization efforts, developing dashboards and insights that support internal decision making, product innovation, and customer-facing solutions. The incumbent brings a strong understanding of Clearinghouse data assets and diverse data domains, applying analytical and visualization techniques to translate data into actionable insights. This role partners with teams across the Clearinghouse to identify opportunities, develop prototypes, and mature data-driven capabilities.
This position contributes to the full lifecycle of data initiatives, from exploratory analysis and dashboard development to supporting data science efforts and advancing prototypes through their lifecycles. The incumbent uses creative and innovative approaches to analysis, design, documentation, and tool selection. Currently, this is a remote-first position, and this position may be required to periodically work on-site at our office and the frequency would depend on the department/division's requirements.
Therefore, candidates must either reside within a reasonable distance to commute to our office or be willing to travel to our office in Herndon, when required. Develop, maintain, and demonstrate a strong working knowledge of the Clearinghouse, its environment, including its mission, services, and key stakeholders and how each organizational unit contributes to that mission.
Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Clearinghouse data assets, data structures, and business context across multiple domains. Serve as a lead for data visualization and dashboard development, creating intuitive and impactful visual products for internal and external stakeholders. Conduct exploratory and diagnostic data analysis to identify insights, trends, and opportunities for new or enhanced data capabilities.
Partner with Product, Research, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into analytical approaches, dashboards, and data products. Support data science and advanced analytics initiatives by preparing data, performing analysis, and contributing to model interpretation and communication. Contribute to the prototype developing process, iterating on analytical solutions, and helping transition successful concepts into scalable capabilities.
