Senior Technical Officer (Home Safety & Renovation) About the Role: An exciting opportunity has become available in the Council's Home Adaptations & Improvement Service within Housing Services. We are looking for a dynamic customer focused individual used to working at pace with a focus on delivery to high standards and the ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team.

You will play a key role in supporting the Home Safety & Renovation Team Leader in relation to delivery of the most appropriate Home Improvement and Minor Home Adaptations Services, which deliver grant/loan funded home improvements, adaptations, early intervention and prevention activity for vulnerable, disabled and elderly people. You will consider application requests for help with disrepair or adaptations whilst ensuring schemes are designed and delivered to the required standards, in accordance with relevant legislation, guidance and policies, in the shortest time.

About the candidate: On a day-to-day basis you will also be required to draft, design and deliver complex schemes of work and act as the Service lead officer for technical queries and development in relation to Home Improvement & Minor Adaptations as well as construction practice, training & mentoring of Technical Officers. You will therefore have significant experience of repairs and adaptations in the home, including a sound knowledge of various construction methods, building regulations and CDM regulations, and be willing to undergo further training as required to ensure your skills and experience are regularly updated.
