Key Responsibilities Perform planned preventative maintenance on production machinery and equipment. Attend to breakdowns and equipment failures to minimise production downtime. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults. Conduct fault-finding and identify the root causes of recurring equipment failures. Carry out inspections and routine maintenance according to maintenance schedules.
Assist with the installation, commissioning and modification of machinery and equipment. Ensure machinery and equipment operate safely and efficiently. Complete maintenance reports, job cards and relevant documentation. Maintain accurate records of breakdowns, repairs and preventative maintenance activities. Work closely with Production and other Maintenance team members to resolve equipment issues.
Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental procedures. Maintain good housekeeping standards within the maintenance and production areas. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving equipment reliability and reducing downtime. Minimum Requirements Trade Test / Red Seal qualification – Millwright, Fitter & Turner, Electrician or relevant Artisan trade.
3–5 years’ relevant post-trade experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding abilities. Experience working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems will be advantageous. Experience with preventative and breakdown maintenance. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical/mechanical diagrams. Computer literacy and ability to complete maintenance documentation.
Ability to work independently as well as within a team. Must be willing and able to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays where required. Valid driver's licence will be advantageous.
