Thepostholderisresponsiblefortheassessmentof careneedsandthe development, implementation, and evaluation of programs of care with the multidisciplinary team and patients' families. As a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse you will be required to support the senior and junior team in ensuring the needsof our patientsare met through the deliveryof high-quality care. The role involves working as part of a large multidisciplinary team including the ED medical team, clinicalpractice educators safeguarding, mental health liaison team and clinical specialties.

The Junior Sister/Charge Nurse works clinically including unsocialhoursandwillbeexpectedtoworkcompetentlyinallareasoftheEmergency Department as well as being able to independently take charge of them. TheJuniorSister/ChargeNursewillassisttheirTeamleaderwithmanagingtheirown teamof nursesand ensuring they meet their potential. You will also be responsible for link roles giving you the opportunity to drive change and improve standards.

Wearelookingforaninspirationalnurse whoenjoysteamworkand makinga difference to the team and the patients. Todemonstrateadvancedclinicalexpertiseinthecareofpatientsreceiving emergency or clinically urgent treatment in the department. To assess,plan,implementandevaluatethe needsof patientson anongoing basis, coordinating the care given by all members of the clinical team. Toaccuratelyassessandinterpretclinicalinformationaboutthepatient's condition prior to medical intervention.

Toinstigateappropriateemergencytreatmentandpromptlyreportchange. Tomanagetheclinicalworkloadeffectively,ensuringcareisprioritizedappropriately. To be actively involved with the ongoing organization of the department, including liaisonwithclinicalsite managerstoensureoptimalbedusage at all times, paediatric teams and the ED management team facilitating timely admission and discharge of patients instigating escalation policies asnecessary.

To assist the team Leader with an identified group of staff, monitoring and documentingthedevelopmentoftheirclinicalskills,andrecordingworkforceinformation. To assist Team Leaders, Matrons and Head of Nursing in recruitment and retention,sicknessmanagementandperformancemanagementanddevelop own skills as required. Our ED is one of the busiest in London, with over 45,000 attendances annually. We have a new, purpose-built department dedicated to providing emergency care to young people and adults ; our local community is at the heart of everything we do.

We are fully staffed by a team of emergency nurses, 24 hours a day and have excellent team support from our A&E senior team. We are also fortunate to have a team of Emergency Medicine Consultants and have a strong medical support framework and excellent links with our MDT. We have two Matrons and a team of Senior Nurses who actively support and engage in clinical care. We offer professional development to all our staff through CPD and other NHS leadership Courses.

Toensureappropriateprioritizationofemergencydepartmentpatients. Toactasaresourcetoothers,providingaccurateinformation,adviceand support to the multidisciplinary team and patients. Toensurethataccuraterecordsaremaintainedreflectingbothchangesinthe patient's condition and the treatment delivered. To ensure that patients are updated regularly with accurate information, ensuringthatthisispresentedinasensitiveway andonethattheyunderstand.
