Have you got a proven record of clinical experience and expertise in Neonatal Intensive Care and Neonatal Surgery? We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic individuals with the ability to enable and empower their teams. Strong leadership and performance management is an integral aspect of this Band 7 role with patient experience and patient safety underpinning all care delivery. You will be responsible for co-ordination of the units on a shift to shift basis managing the nursing establishment, attendance, appraisals, mandatory training and competency assessments.
You will be expected to provide an assurance that standards are met and sustained for every patient, every time. A support package will be developed to support the successful applicants needs. You will be expected to work cross city and fulfil a 24/7 shift system. The jobholder will carry 24 hour continuing responsibility for the effective and efficient management of the ward/department. They will provide professional, clinical, managerial leadership and supervision for the nursing team.
The jobholder is responsible for developing and maintaining a ward or department's philosophy that has the patient at the centre of compassionate safe and quality care delivery. Why you should join our Team The Leeds Neonatal Service delivers care to over 1400 babies per year.
We have a Neonatal Unit at LGI and SJUH and together can care for 48 patient's cross city. These cots are a mixture of Intensive, High Dependency, Special and Surgical Care. With LGI providing the level 3 intensive, high dependency and special care. We also have a 12 bedded Transitional Care Unit on the St James's Hospital Site and 2 Transitional care cots integrated into the post-natal ward on the Leeds General Infirmary Site.
Current service comprise 64 cots cross city. The role requires management of approximately 170 whole time equivalent nurses and support staff in partnership with the Lead Nurses and Matrons for the Service. The jobholder will coordinate the units on a shift by shift basis. The job holder will work cross city and will be expected to cover a 24/7 shift system.
