Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon – South Yorkshire £60,000–£90,000 DOE | Permanent | Full Time Are you a confident Small Animal Vet who enjoys surgery and wants the time, caseload and support to genuinely develop your surgical skills? We’re working with a long-established independent, family-run practice in South Yorkshire that offers something increasingly difficult to find — protected operating time, an experienced clinical team and the freedom to develop your own interests.

Why this role stands out 2 hours of dedicated operating time every day A protected 2-hour break every day — genuinely protected time to use as you wish Work alongside 14 experienced Vets, including 4 certificate holders Supported by 19 Nurses, including 14 RVNs 20–30 different procedures performed every day across the main hospital 5 operating theatres, with all surgery and hospitalised cases managed centrally You will never be expected to operate alone, with experienced support always available No night emergencies, with these covered externally A high-quality estate car provided for work and personal use Fully furnished accommodation available if required A great place to develop your surgery If you're looking to build confidence in surgery, this role offers a particularly strong environment to do it.

You'll have protected operating time every day and exposure to a genuinely broad surgical caseload, while working alongside experienced colleagues who can provide support when you need it. The main centre is fully equipped with five operating theatres, advanced ultrasound and endoscopy, while the wider group also has an in-house hydrotherapy and physiotherapy centre. There is plenty of opportunity to develop your clinical interests rather than simply working through a routine first-opinion caseload.

The wider practice You'll be joining a large, established independent practice with one fully equipped main centre and seven consulting-only branches. All operating and hospitalisation takes place at the main centre, meaning the clinical and nursing support is concentrated where you need it most. The team includes a strong mix of experienced Vets and RVNs, with certificate holders across the practice — creating an environment where there is always someone around to discuss a case with, ask for advice or learn from.
