Join us as a Special Customer Types Enhanced Due Diligence Manager where you will be responsible for the Enhanced Due Diligence reviews of the UK Corporate Bank’s Special Customer Types (SCT), such as Non-Banking Payment Service Providers (“NB-PSPs”), Correspondent Banking Relationship Customers, e-Marketplaces, Internet Gambling Providers and Politically Exposed Person (PEP) or PEP Entity, as well as Embassies and Diplomatic Missions, Cannabis and Adult Entertainment Customers.

The team sits in the first line of defence but acts independently of the coverage teams they support. Responsibilities include undertaking Intelligence & Complex Reviews /EDD reviews for refresh and on-boarding of SCTs using internal and public source tools, information sought from the client through customer engagement (dedicated outreach) to understand the Financial Crime risk profile of the clients in keeping with the Bank’s regulatory requirements and risk appetite.

The team produce detailed and analytical EDD Memos and present their findings at the relevant High Risk Forums summarising reviews and provide recommendations to assist management in making decisions to on-board, retain or exit clients. The role holder is required to constantly engage with stakeholders from KYC, FinCrime and Coverage or other parts of the business to collect all the information about clients and relationships.

The role holder is required to be able to work on their own using their initiative and knowledge and skills to produce a comprehensive report and recommendation. They must ensure their report will stand up to the scrutiny of the Corporate Banking High Risk Forum membership, Internal Audit and the Regulator who will review the output of their reviews and recommendations. To be successful in this secondment role, the candidate must have: Experience in a corporate investigations or compliance role in a financial services, consulting or corporate environment or in the public sector.

Previous experience of Financial Crime Compliance, Complex, Intelligence driven reviews and Enhanced Due Diligence is desirable. Mandatory experience working with NB-PSPs and correspondent banking clients (experience from smaller or SME-sized firms is perfectly acceptable). Working knowledge of reading and assessing transactional data. In-depth knowledge of UK Regulatory regime, AML/Sanctions/ABC/CTF risks and ability to analyse those in a commercial banking context.

Additional skills that will help you in this role are: Relevant AML/CTF or ABC qualifications i.e. ICA or ACAMs Familiar with Software systems such as Quantexa, Cyclops, Fortent Ability to present complex subject matters concisely and confidently at Forum meetings and engage with internal and external stakeholders often at Managing Director level This role is based London with 3 anchor days in the office, alternative locations such as Birmingham or Northampton may be considered.

Purpose of the role To provide data-led expert oversight and check and challenge on business and compliance matters to evidence that the organisation is operating in a compliance with Barclays legal, regulatory and ethical responsibilities.

Accountabilities Identification and assessment of compliance risks through thorough reviews of business activities, changes, processes, testing and systems to. Identification and investigation of potential market abuse, including but not limited to, Insider Dealing, Unlawful Disclosure, Market Manipulation or Anti-Competitive Conduct. Conduct investigation of compliance risk events or breaches. Oversight and check and challenge of corrective actions and preventative measures to avoid future occurrences.
