Specialist Speech and Language Therapist -Early Years

To work closely with more senior colleagues to develop and run a service to families in Family Hubs and Children Centres promoting Early Communication. To independently use specialist skills and knowledge, to work jointly with family hub staff and more senior colleagues to develop services to support the identification and early intervention for the development of speech language and communication skills in children 0-5 years of age.

To independently manage a large and diverse caseload in the Family hubs, providing high quality assessment and intervention, reporting directly to the Clinical Lead when required. To be part of the speech and language service to children of Newham in the area of Early Years. To provide a service which takes account of the needs of clients from a range of ethnic and linguistic backgrounds. Are you an experienced, innovative, creative speech and language therapist?

We have an exciting opportunity within our Family Hubs and Children's centres for a Speech and Language Therapist with specialist skills and knowledge in Early Years service delivery for children aged 0-5 years of age. The post is an integral part of the delivery of early idnetification, early support adn early intervention for children with a range of speech , language and communication needs.

Work in the Family hubs is aimed at health promotion within the SLCN pathway. The Early Years' team offers specialist assessment, intervention and advice for younger children. This includes children with social communication difficulties, developmental language disorder, dysfluency and language delay. The post holder will build upon the existing Family hubs offer. They will be involved in providing training and workshops for parents and Family hub staff and implementing evidence based early language programmes.
