The Incumbent under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform a variety of specialized duties in the operation and maintenance of the ornamental horticulture facilities including a storeroom, retail store, greenhouse, shade house and other growing areas, landscaping, and turf areas. Assist in all plant care activities, lab activities, assist in landscape, design and plant selection; install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems; application of toxic chemicals for pest, disease and weed control and other department functions.

ALL ABOUT THE JOB AT-A-GLANCE POSITION INFORMATION: ***This recruitment will be used to form a substitute Specialty Lab Technician III - Ornamental Horticulture pool.*** Type of position: Full-time Substitute The work hours for the substitute positions are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with occasional evening shifts from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Duration: Possibly as long as three (3) months to six (6) months.

Salary: Range CL- 32 $25.41 - $37.18 Hourly $4,405 - $6,445 Monthly (based on 40 hours per week) Initial Salary Placement: New employees start at Step A ($25.41 per hour) on the salary schedule.
