Key Roles and Responsibilities of the Specialty Pharmacy Technician Supervisor include, but are not limited to: Fostering a culture of staff engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement within the technician team.
Leading the development and ongoing refinement of a dedicated specialty pharmacy technician staffing model, including workflow design, scheduling, and operational infrastructure specific to specialty pharmacy. o More specifically, this consists of overseeing specialty-specific technician workflows including patient enrollment and intake, inbound and outbound phone support, and order management. o Serving as the internal subject matter expert on URAC and ACHC accreditation standards related to technician roles and patient management call workflows, and leading associated reporting and compliance efforts.
Recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and developing specialty pharmacy technicians to support a growing and evolving team. Managing day-to-day HR functions for the specialty technician team, including performance evaluations, productivity monitoring, competency review, and corrective action processes as needed. Collaborating closely with the pharmacy leadership team to identify opportunities to align workflows, standardize processes, improve communication, and advance shared departmental goals while maintaining a focused specialty pharmacy lens.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: A minimum of three years of work experience in health care required. Leadership experience preferred. Quality improvement, process improvement, team building, and problem solving experience is preferred. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or a related field, or an approved education plan to achieve a bachelor's degree within four years of hire/transfer date.
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or a related field. SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
