Senior Customer Service Representative Full-Time, Permanent Location: Peterborough Salary: $55- $65K Role Overview Our client is a well-established organization serving customers within the industrial sector. The Senior Customer Service Representative will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing orders from start to finish, supporting sales activities, and coordinating with internal teams, suppliers, and logistics partners.
This role is ideal for a customer-focused professional who is comfortable balancing transactional responsibilities with relationship management and has strong attention to detail. Key Responsibilities Serve as a primary point of contact for customers through phone, email, and in-person interactions. Process customer orders, including order entry, freight coordination, invoicing, and related documentation.
Prepare quotes, source products, follow up on quotations, place orders, and coordinate expediting activities. Address customer concerns and resolve issues efficiently, escalating complex matters when required. Maintain accurate records, including invoices, receipts, proof of delivery, and other required documentation. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
Conduct outbound calls to assigned accounts to strengthen relationships and identify opportunities for additional business. Support counter sales and other branch-level customer service activities as required. Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, including verifying shipments, scheduling carrier pickups and deliveries, and resolving discrepancies. Work closely with warehouse and supply chain teams to monitor inventory and support timely replenishment.
Coordinate with sales, procurement, finance, pricing, and other internal teams to ensure a high level of customer service. Provide after-hours customer support when required. Maintain and expand knowledge of products, processes, customers, and industry trends. Participate in ongoing training and professional development. Qualifications & Requirements Post-secondary education is preferred. Previous experience in customer service, inside sales, order management, or a related industrial/distribution environment.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Comfortable working with numbers and processing transactional information. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Professional, dependable, and customer-focused approach. Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and external partners. Bilingual French/English is considered an asset. Knowledge of industrial products, distribution, supply chain, or related industries is an asset. This posting reflects an active vacancy.
