Summary of Role: We are seeking a Senior Principal Engineer Business Development to accelerate growth with leading data center customers and semiconductor partners across North America.Responsibility includes driving new business opportunities and managing key customer relationships, from early engagement through deal closure.Essential Responsibilities: Drive Business GrowthIdentify, develop, and close new opportunities across data center customers in NAMLead the full sales lifecycle from initial engagement to contract executionFocus on strategic engagements including:Platform solutionsCustom silicon programsProcessor IP licensingOwn Strategic Customer RelationshipsAct as primary account owner for key customersBuild strong relationships across engineering, purchasing, and executive levelsDevelop and execute account strategies aligned with customer roadmapsEngage & Position SolutionsWork closely with customer engineering teams to understand system requirementsPosition MIPS' value proposition including:Open RISC-V-based compute architecturesHigh-performance, multi-threaded CPU IPFunctional safety-ready solutionsEnd-to-end offering from IP to siliconTranslate technical requirements into compelling commercial proposalsBuild and Manage PipelineDevelop and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunitiesEnsure accurate forecasting and CRM managementTrack progress toward revenue targetsDevelop the EcosystemExpand relationships with design houses, system integrators, and partnersSupport industry engagement (conferences, customer workshops, RISC-V ecosystem)Strengthen MIPS' presence in the North American data center marketCollaborate Across TeamsPartner with engineering, product management, marketing, and foundry teamsAlign internal stakeholders to drive successful customer engagementsProvide input to product roadmap based on market and customer needsOther Responsibilities: Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Required Qualifications:Experience10+ years in business development, sales, or account managementBackground in:Semiconductor IC, ASIC/SoC, or foundry servicesData Center electronics ecosystemProven success in closing complex, high-value dealsEstablished network within NAM ecosystemTechnical ExpertiseStrong understanding of data center system architecturesFamiliarity with processor IP and silicon development flowsSkillsStrong customer engagement and negotiation capabilitiesAbility to operate independently and manage multiple opportunitiesExcellent communication bridging technical and commercial topicsStructured pipeline and account management approachPreferred QualificationsTrack record working with North American data center customersExperience selling silicon or platform-based solutionsExperience with Embedded Compute ArchitecturesNo Recruitment Fee Policy: GlobalFoundries is committed to ethical and transparent hiring practices.
