Responsibilities Flawless Execution: Perform heavy, multi-pass welds on substantial carbon steel structural elements. You will be fusing everything from colossal support columns and heavy I-beams to intricate, custom-fabricated structural components. Code Compliance: Guarantee that every single weld you lay down meets exact blueprint specifications, aligns perfectly with CWB regulations, and passes our stringent, in-house quality control inspections with flying colors.
Equipment Mastery: Utilize a blend of standard manual welding gear and highly advanced automated systems. (Never used a welding robot? Don't worry—we provide full, on-the-job training for all high-tech machinery). Team Coordination: Communicate effectively with steel fitters, crane operators, and management. Teamwork is essential to maneuver massive steel sections safely and keep the fabrication line moving without bottlenecks.
Safety & Housekeeping: Champion a safe work environment by strictly following all internal safety guidelines, keeping your welding bay organized, and actively identifying potential hazards before they become issues. Qualifications Experience & Education: We are actively hunting for Journeyperson Welders. Essential Certifications: You absolutely must possess an active and valid CWB FCAW/MCAW ticket for at least three positions (flat, horizontal, vertical).
This is a hard requirement for the role. Industry Background: Demonstrated past experience welding in a heavy industrial setting, large-scale commercial fabrication shop, or similar structural steel manufacturing environment. Professional Attitude: We need reliable professionals who show up on time for every shift, bring a rock-solid work ethic to the floor, and collaborate seamlessly with the rest of the shop crew.
