Teacher of English and Humanities (Fixed Term Contract, preferred start date November 2026) We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and inspirational teacher to work in the Prep section of our school. The successful candidate will be passionate about English, have high expectations of pupils and be committed to fostering a love of reading, writing and literature amongst children, delivering KS3 and KS4 content to children in the prep section.
They will deliver high quality humanities lessons, including Religious Studies, to KS2 and KS3 children. This includes preparing children for Common Entrance and, potentially, Senior School Scholarship examinations to a range of leading senior schools. The role will include monitoring pupil progress, supporting colleagues within the department and championing literacy across the School. The Teacher of English will be responsible for contributing to the development of English and humanities with a range of year groups.
The postholder will contribute fully to the wider life of the School, including extracurricular activities, educational visits and occasional Saturday morning provision as required. As a busy prep and boarding school, we are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who are willing to contribute more broadly to school life. Additional expertise, such as boarding, sports coaching or chaplaincy, would be an advantage.
