KS2 Teaching Assistant - SEN Support Barnet NW11, North London £110-£120 per day Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary Long Term Futures is recruiting an experienced KS2 Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Year 5 and Year 6 at a welcoming junior school in Barnet. This is a classroom-based role with a strong SEN focus, supporting pupils who need additional help to access learning, remain engaged and make progress.

You'll work across upper KS2, providing a mixture of classroom support, targeted interventions and individual assistance. The school is looking for someone who understands the increased academic expectations of Year 5 and Year 6 while remaining patient and adaptable when supporting pupils with additional needs. About the Role Support teaching and learning across Year 5 and Year 6 Provide targeted support for pupils with SEN and additional learning needs Work 1:1 and with small groups during English and Maths Deliver targeted literacy and numeracy interventions Break down tasks and adapt resources for pupils working below expected levels Support pupils with attention, organisation and classroom engagement Encourage confidence and independence ahead of secondary transition Work closely with teachers and the SENCo to follow individual support plans Monitor progress and provide useful feedback to teaching staff Ideal Candidate Previous KS2 Teaching Assistant experience is strongly preferred Experience supporting pupils with SEN Good understanding of the Year 5/6 curriculum Confident supporting English and Maths Experience delivering interventions or 1:1 support Patient, proactive and able to build positive relationships Strong communication and behaviour management skills Committed to a full-time, long-term position Why Long Term Futures?
