Teaching Assistant – SEN Specialist School

Location: Merton Salary: PAYE (£93 - £105) Type: Full time/Long term (term time only) Start: ASAP The School: Our partner school is an inclusive SEN school dedicated to supporting children with a range of learning needs, including Autism (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Key Responsibilities Support pupils with individual learning plans (EHCPs) in small groups or one-to-one. Assist the class teacher in creating engaging and accessible learning activities. Promote independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing in pupils. Manage and support behaviour positively and calmly. Contribute to the wider school community, including supporting enrichment and sensory activities.

Requirements Experience supporting children or young people with SEN / additional needs (school or care setting). Strong communication and teamwork skills. A calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach. A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one). A Safeguarding Certificate (or willing to complete a course via us to obtain one) (Desirable) Experience with PECS, Makaton, or Team Teach training.
