Teaching Assistant - IT Specialism Location: Rochdale Contract: Temp to Perm Full time/Part time: Full time Pay: £105-£120 per day Start date: ASAP Expected End date: Long term ongoing, with the opportunity to become permanent Hours: 08:30-3:40 A welcoming and supportive SEN school in Rochdale is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with an IT specialism to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, offering the successful candidate the chance to secure a permanent position within the school. The successful candidate will provide classroom and individual support to pupils with a range of special educational needs, while using their IT skills to help pupils access technology-based learning and develop their digital skills. Key responsibilities: • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs • Supporting pupils to access learning through IT and technology • Assisting pupils with computer-based activities, digital learning and educational software • Adapting technology and learning resources to meet individual pupil needs • Supporting pupils with SEN, including autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs • Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and digital skills • Supporting emotional regulation, positive behaviour and social development • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff to meet individual needs • Supporting the implementation of EHCP targets and individual learning plans What the school offers: • A welcoming and supportive specialist SEN environment • A dedicated and experienced staff team • Opportunities to develop your SEN and IT skills • Ongoing CPD and training opportunities • A rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to pupils' education and development • Long-term stability with the potential for a permanent position This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and has a strong interest or background in IT and technology.

The successful applicant will: • Have previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN or education setting • Have a strong knowledge of IT and confidence using technology • Be confident supporting pupils with computer-based learning • Have a patient, caring and nurturing approach • Be confident supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis • Have good communication and interpersonal skills • Be reliable, proactive and resilient • Have the right to work in the UK and full-time availability • Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching & Learning qualification (desirable) • Previous SEN experience or SEN-related training (desirable) • Experience supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH or communication needs (desirable) What we offer Free access to CPD and safeguarding training Dedicated consultant and ongoing support Long-term opportunities with the potential to secure a permanent position Compliance and safeguarding: This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS (child and adult workforce), satisfactory references, and full compliance with KCSIE (2026) guidance and safer recruitment standards.
