Location: Wolverhampton A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a supportive Teaching Assistant to start immediately. This Teaching Assistant position will involve working with children and young people aged 4 to 19 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), complex communication needs, sensory processing differences, and associated learning difficulties. Many pupils require highly structured support to help them develop independence, social communication skills, emotional regulation, and confidence in their everyday learning.

The successful Teaching Assistant will help create an inclusive and positive learning experience within a specialist educational environment. The Role As a Teaching Assistant , you will: Support pupils with autism and complex communication needs. Help implement individual education and support plans tailored to each learner. Adapt learning resources and classroom activities to meet a range of learning styles and abilities.

Support pupils with sensory needs, emotional regulation, and social interaction. Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement across both academic and life-skills activities. Use visual strategies, structured routines, and communication approaches to support learning and understanding. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, families, and other professionals to provide consistent support and achieve positive outcomes for pupils.

This Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children and young people with autism to develop the skills they need to thrive both in education and beyond. What You’ll Need Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND, autism, communication difficulties, or complex learning needs. A patient, caring, and resilient approach. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
