For the leadership and further development of an experienced infrastructure team, we are looking for an entrepreneurial-minded individual as Team Leader Virtualisation / System Engineering.
In this role, you combine technical expertise with leadership responsibility and actively shape both daily collaboration and the strategic development of the infrastructure. Responsibilities - Professional and personnel management of a team of system engineers and infrastructure specialists - Conducting employee discussions, target agreements and development measures - Responsibility for the stable and secure operation of the virtualisation and server infrastructure - Technical responsibility for VMware or comparable virtualisation platforms - Further development of server, storage, backup and data centre environments - Planning and implementation of infrastructure projects and technological migrations - Optimisation of monitoring, automation, availability and performance - Support with complex technical issues and escalations - Development and implementation of the technical infrastructure strategy - Planning of lifecycle, modernisation and migration projects - Collaboration with the areas of cloud, network, security, workplace and service management - Support with budget planning and investment decisions - Presentation of technical concepts to management and customers Profile - Completed higher education in computer science, system engineering or comparable qualification - Several years of experience as a system engineer with a focus on virtualisation and IT infrastructure - Sound knowledge of VMware vSphere and ideally other virtualisation platforms - Very good knowledge of Windows Server and good knowledge of the Linux environment - Experience with storage, backup, monitoring and data centre infrastructures - Good knowledge of modern cloud technologies, especially Microsoft Azure, is an advantage - Experience with PowerShell, automation and infrastructure-as-code is an advantage - Several years of experience in a professional or personnel leadership role - Strong communication and social skills - Entrepreneurial thinking and the ability to connect technical topics with business requirements - Decisive, structured and solution-oriented personality - Very good German skills and good English skills Additional Information - A responsible key position with great scope for design - Combination of leadership tasks, architecture and operational technical responsibility - Modern and innovative IT landscape - Exciting customer and infrastructure projects with high technical demands - Short decision-making paths and an open corporate culture If you are ready to lead an experienced IT team and at the same time help shape the technological future of a modern infrastructure, this position offers an excellent perspective.
