Team Leader

An exciting opportunity has arisen for x3 team leaders within Childrens,2 full time posts and 1 part time. This post involves cross-site working and provides support across the Horton General Hospital, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, and John Radcliffe Hospital, ensuring consistent service delivery across all locations. The post holder will be responsible for supporting and leading a team of administration staff to provide a quality service which is efficient and effective in the delivery of the patient pathway experience.

The post holder will act with autonomy for the day to day management of the administration staff within their remit. You will lead and mentor the administration team to ensure an excellent level of customer service. The post holder will be expected to form strong working relationships with the Management Team, Clinical Leads and Corporate departments. They will also liaise closely with patients, carers, GP's and other external Trusts.

Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible for: · The day to day service management of the teams across four sites with particular responsibility for managing the delivery of patient care in line with the National and local targets and audit requirements. · Providing first line management for the administration team across four hospital sites. · Leading the team in order to provide a high quality administration service to all patients.

· Monitoring the performance of admin processes within the team to ensure any issues with workload are identified and action taken in a timely manner. · Work with the Elective Access and clinical team to identify any capacity issues and making sure all clinic capacity is fully utilised. · Working with the Elective Access team in supporting the delivery of performance targets including monitoring activity and capacity and liaising with the Patient Access & Administration Manager/Elective Access Manager on any areas of concern.

· Managing and developing the outpatient pathways in order to ensure continuous improvement. Ensure that robust processes are in place and that these are communicated effectively to all staff. · To recruit new staff to the team making sure that all staff have regular appraisals and deal with any formal disciplinary meetings. · Oversee the administration team when covering for absences and allocating the workload in order to provide a consistently high level of service. · Monitor and take appropriate action to deal with poor performance when necessary following the Trust policy. · Represent the service at various meetings as required to ensure that the outcomes and actions of these meetings are communicated back to the team appropriately and in a timely manner.

· Meet regularly with the Administration Manager to discuss current waiting time capacity issues and contribute to continual review of pathway mapping. · Promote good team working, act as a mentor to staff within the team.
