Production planning and scheduling experience. Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills. Experience with time studies and line balancing. Experience in people and performance management. Strong knowledge of production processes and workflow management.
Experience with production documentation and reporting. Strong organisational and time management skills. Automotive experience will be advantageous. Duties and responsibilities: Develop and implement production plans and schedules to meet production targets and customer deadlines. Create, monitor and manage job cards, work instructions and quality documentation. Coordinate with Supply Chain, Purchasing and Finance to optimise labour, materials and inventory flow. Set daily production objectives and communicate targets to operators.
Organise workflow, allocate responsibilities and monitor production progress. Assist the Operations Manager with production planning to minimise downtime and maximise output. Obtain production requirements and future commitments from Sales to support planning. Prepare weekly and monthly production reports and forecasts. Ensure accurate material management by job. Supervise and manage production staff and operator activities.
Provide guidance, training and performance feedback to production employees. Develop team capability through training, upskilling and multi-skilling initiatives. Maintain and update the production skills matrix. Motivate the team to achieve production and performance targets. Communicate production goals, expectations and updates to staff and management. Ensure compliance with ISO standards and the company’s quality management system.
Ensure safety procedures and regulations are followed throughout the workshop. Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains. Investigate production problems and escalate technical issues to Engineering. Ensure vehicle fitments are completed according to work and fitment instructions. Ensure production processes meet quality and industry standards. Maintain 5S standards across the workshop, equipment and vehicles.
Implement Smooth Flow principles to improve the movement of labour and materials.
