To apply for our apprentice programme, you must meet the Government's apprentice funding requirements that apply to you (as outlined in https://www.gov.uk/ for apprentices in England and in https://www.saas.gov.uk/ for apprentices in Scotland). The Government apprentice funding requirements include a number of requirements that you must meet, including a 3 year residence requirement (subject to certain exceptions).
To qualify for the Government's apprentice funding requirements, you must also have the legal right to work for the full duration of the programme at the point of enrolment, with no gaps in your legal right to work or dependency on future visa applications during the period of your apprenticeship (August 2027 to August 2031). You must also not have undertaken any previous study, education, training, qualifications, or apprenticeship, gained learning or competence from prior work experience, or received prior funding or financial support which renders you ineligible for the Government's apprentice funding.

Purpose of the role To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Accountabilities Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance. Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
Collaboration with peers, participation in code reviews, and promotion of a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing. Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions. Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
