Job summary Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference in a Defence role? Test and Measuring Equipment (TME) is essential within the aviation engineering environment to ensure that related tools and components are maintained to strict tolerances and specifications in order to generate safe, compliant, and available aircraft and airfield support services. The Test and Measuring Equipment Control (TMEC) Storekeeper is responsible for the efficient operation of TMEC Stores, meaning you will be in control of circa 12000-line items and charged with recording all transactions associated with items of TME in support of RAF Coningsby Typhoon aircraft on base and global operations.

This can be a demanding position in a busy environment, and candidates must be able to prove that they can perform well under pressure and within set guidelines. It is a physical post where you will be responsible to OC TMEC for the movement and progression of fragile, valuable and heavy equipment; correctly packing and dispatching items of TME to the appropriate agencies for repair or calibration.

You will be expected to undertake Logistic Civilian Foundation and Accounting Courses. This position is advertised at 37 hours per week. Job description As a TMEC Storekeeper you will be responsible to OC TMEC for: Correctly packaging and dispatching items of TME to the appropriate agencies for calibration, direct exchange or returns including, Surplus to Requirements (STR) and Unserviceable (U/S) repair and scrap.

Unpacking received equipment and taking the appropriate supply actions where required, for defective packaging and damaged equipment. Acting as the point of contact for receiving/issuing/loan of TME for/from calibration or repair, from inventory holders or their representative. Ensuring the correct inventory action is taken upon issue and receipt of TME with the relevant voucher details. Ensure that the MJDI records of TME held forward on inventories are reconciled.

Liaising with the TMEC Controllers for the supply aspects of the issue and receipt of TME. Act as the nominated TMEC Fuels and Lubricants (FLAP) Custodians; applying strict control measures to maintain the good husbandry of the storage area as well as the integrity and quality of the in-use FLAP products. Person specification You should have experience of working within a quality management system (preferably aircraft related) and an understanding of continuous improvement (CI).

You will be required to use bespoke database systems and windows-based programmes so you must have excellent IT skills, especially experience of using databases, Microsoft Applications and Power Apps. You will be customer focused so must be able to quickly build good working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, both internal to the Civil Service and RAF as well as external to these organisations.

There is a considerable element of manual handling in the packing and unpacking of TME. Essential experience for the Storekeeper role Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with and influence people from all backgrounds and at all levels. Excellent attention to detail. Experience of coordinating and completing activities/tasks to agreed timescales that deliver quantifiable results Computer literate – Microsoft Office and the use of Data bases.

Desirable experience Previous experience operating in an MOD Supply/Logistics Environment. Experienced in the use of the MOD Materiel Accounting Software (MJDI).
