ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE BSc. in Nursing with specialization in theater nursing Higher Diploma in theater Nursing 2 years experience practicing as a theater nurse Additional qualification in medical education or health professional education or preparedness to obtain such Registered and in good standing with NCK and/or Kenya Health Professions Oversight Authority (KHPOA) Registered and licensed as a trainer by TVETA or preparedness to do so ADDED ADVANTAGES Training experience Experience in training health care workers Experience in mentoring adolescents Experience in e-learning and/or blended learning KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of training, including: - Preparing lesson plans, learning guides, and related teaching and learning materials for assigned lessons Uploading learning materials for students to the learning management system Planning and conducting lectures Planning and conducting tutorials Planning and conducting Skills sessions Evaluation of learning by the students and staff Mentor and guide students in their learning and development of professional behaviour REQUIRED COMPETENCIES Competent health care professional with technical skills in theatre nursing, theatre technology, understanding skills lab operations and up-to-date with trends and developments in health care Competent in basic medical and nursing skills Good understanding of medical consumables, equipment, and manikins Good understanding of the training curricula, of the various courses specifically skills training Good planning, organizational and leadership skills Good language skills in writing (Engish) and oral (English and Kiswahili).
Good report writing skills Ability to 'step into the shoes' of others, imagine students perspective and learning needs, and actualize this in concrete actions e.g. when preparing and conducting training Participate in planning, implementation, and evaluation of assessment including: Development of formative assessment materials for assigned lessons Participation in development of summative assessment materials Assessment of students' performance Evaluation of assessment by students and staff Generally, participate in other incidental activities in the college related to training of students
