We are seeking an experienced, values-led, and inclusive Chair to lead our Board at a pivotal moment for our Trust. Working closely with the Chief Executive, Board of Directors and Council of Governors, you will provide visible leadership and strategic oversight, ensuring the Trust remains focused on delivering high-quality care, improving outcomes for patients and communities, and creating an environment where colleagues can thrive. This is an opportunity to influence not only the future of DBTH, but also the development of collaborative working across South Yorkshire's health and care system., As Chair, you will lead the Board of Directors and Council of Governors, ensuring the highest standards of corporate governance, accountability and stewardship are maintained.
You will foster a culture of openness, inclusion and constructive challenge, supporting the Board to make effective decisions and deliver the Trust's strategic objectives. You will work in close partnership with the Chief Executive, providing support, guidance and appropriate challenge while maintaining a clear distinction between executive and non-executive responsibilities. You will ensure the Board maintains a strong focus on quality, patient safety, operational performance, workforce wellbeing and financial sustainability.
A key aspect of the role will be representing DBTH externally and building strong relationships with local communities, Governors, partners, regulators and stakeholders across South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire. You will help strengthen collaboration across organisations and support the development of new partnership opportunities that improve services and outcomes for patients Above all, you will demonstrate an unwavering commitment to patients and colleagues, equality and inclusion, public service and the values of the NHS, personally modelling the DBTH Way as we strive to realise our vision for the future.
We are seeking an experienced Board leader with a strong track record of operating within complex, regulated, and person-centred environments. Politically astute, enabling, and highly collaborative, you will build trusted relationships across organisational and system boundaries and bring the ability to lead through complexity, support organisations through change and transformation, and inspire confidence.

Our services are based over three main hospital sites and several additional services employing over 7,000 colleagues.
