Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers has an immediate opportunity for a BE/BC Physician to serve as an Urgent Care Medical Director (0.8 FTE) supporting our three Urgent Care Centers in Morris, Diamond, and Channahon . This is a blended clinical + leadership role , ideal for a physician who enjoys both patient care and serving as a collaborative partner and clinical resource to Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) .

A Great Schedule for Work-Life Balance Your position is designed for a sustainable, predictable schedule: No Overnight Obligations: Hours are 8 am–8 pm (Mon–Fri) and 8 am–4 pm (Sat–Sun) Every-Other-Weekend Rotation Consistent Scheduling: Predictable 4-week schedule Advanced Scheduling: Managed through SlingApp , with visibility months (even years) in advance Generous Time Off: 4 weeks PTO plus additional CME time Major Holidays Off: Closed on Christmas, New Year’s Day, and Thanksgiving Clinical Practice & Team-Based Care Practice in a well-supported, high-functioning urgent care environment with strong hospital integration.
Care for patients of all ages (children Work alongside experienced APPs in a highly collaborative model Serve as the collaborating physician , providing guidance, mentorship, and real-time clinical support Clinical Scope & Case Variety We are seeking a provider who is passionate about procedures and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Patient Volume: Upper 20s during non-flu season Broad Case Mix including: Allergies and asthma exacerbations Upper respiratory, sinus, eye, UTI, and STI infections Flu-like illness and dehydration Mild sprains, strains, and minor fractures Back pain and headaches Skin conditions (rashes, bites, burns) Minor lacerations and foreign body removal Concussion evaluation and management This is a high-acuity, procedure-driven urgent care setting with excellent variety.
Medical Director Responsibilities This is a clinical leadership role (not operational management) : Consult on clinical policies and standing orders Participate in peer review and quality initiatives Lead and contribute to department meetings Serve as a clinical leader and resource across all urgent care sites No scheduling, payroll, or day-to-day operational oversight required. Facility Support On-site lab and X-ray , including point-of-care diagnostics Access to advanced imaging at the hospital Strong, established Emergency and Radiology Department support Immediate Care model with walk-ins and upcoming “save your spot” feature (2026) Compensation & Benefits Market-competitive base starting at $230,000 Production & quality incentives available from day one Full medical education loan repayment CME & general expense allowance Health, retirement, and wellness benefits including BCBS insurance, employer match, and wellness incentives Requirements BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA) Ability to read initial radiographs (radiologist over-read) Proficient in suturing and procedures Experience with Occupational Medicine DOT certification required prior to start Morris Hospital is an independent, not-for-profit health system serving five counties through 27 clinics.
