Leads department sales growth through effective merchandising, pricing accuracy, inventory oversight, and seasonal execution. Forecasts sales trends and aligns product assortments with member needs, community demographics, and local economic patterns. Monitors competitive pricing and adjusts strategies to strengthen market relevance and achieve financial targets.

Uses sales data to identify opportunities, refine merchandising tactics, and drive continuous improvement in revenue performance. Encourages team engagement in club and builds connections with stakeholders to enhance departmental visibility and long-term impact. Leads community outreach efforts to promote optical services, expand brand presence, and strengthen local relationships. Represents the optical department in both community programs and internal business initiatives that support organizational goals.

Sets and upholds high service standards to ensure prompt, accurate resolution of member inquiries and concerns. Leads eyewear and contact lens consultations, ensuring members receive clear guidance on product options and visual solutions under applicable optometric supervision. Oversees precise eyewear measurements, fittings, adjustments, and contact lens education, maintaining safety and accuracy under applicable optometric supervision.

Ensures the confidentiality of member information and maintains accurate, compliant documentation, including HIPAA and safety protocols. Manages quality assurance processes, resolves complex optical issues under applicable optometric supervision, and maintains equipment calibration, cleanliness, and readiness. Leads, coaches, and develops the optical team through hiring, training, performance management, and recognition.

Fosters a collaborative and inclusive culture grounded in accountability, engagement, and continuous development. Assigns duties strategically to optimize workflow, elevate skills, and ensure operational excellence. Supports certification and licensure pathways, encourages skill advancement, and ensures the timely renewal of credentials. Ensures apprentice opticians have sponsorship in accordance with state requirements and provides clear development pathways.

Oversees the accuracy of all optical measurements, including pupillary distance, position of wear, and multifocal/progressive lens parameters under applicable optometric supervision. Ensures the consistent use of manual and digital tools. Ensures the high-quality execution of frame adjustments, repairs, and final eyewear inspections (including prism verification) under applicable optometric supervision.

Leads troubleshooting efforts for non- adapt cases, under applicable optometric supervision, and coordinates communication with labs, suppliers, and optometrists regarding job status, product updates, and corrective actions. Directs eyewear and contact lens order processing, trial lens inventory control, and adherence to equipment calibration and maintenance protocols under applicable optometric supervision.

Monitors equipment performance, guides troubleshooting, and coordinates repairs or replacements to maintain uninterrupted clinical operations. Supports OD services by overseeing appointment scheduling workflows, pre-testing procedures, contact lens insertion and removal documentation accuracy, and payment collection for doctor or telehealth services as applicable under contracted optometric services.

Promotes the utilization of new and existing optical technologies to improve accuracy, efficiency, and member experience. Ensures compliance with HIPAA, optical regulations, company policies, and safety protocols, setting clear expectations for the team. Analyzes operational and performance reports, identifies gaps, and implements corrective actions to maintain audit-ready standards.
