Help shape the next generation of IPS Employment Specialists by assessing, supporting and developing practitioners who deliver life-changing employment support to people with complex needs., The Vocational Assessor is responsible for assessing and supporting Employment Specialists throughout their qualification programme. This includes managing a caseload of learners, reviewing evidence of practice, providing guidance and feedback, and ensuring all assessment activities meet quality and compliance standards.
The role is centred on developing others, promoting professional growth, and improving outcomes for individuals accessing IPS services., Assess learners against qualification requirements through workplace-based and portfolio assessments. Review learner evidence, including written assignments, case studies and reflective accounts. Provide clear, constructive and timely feedback to support learner development.
Guide learners in meeting assessment criteria and improving professional practice. Manage a caseload of learners from enrolment through to successful completion. Monitor learner progress, maintain assessment records and support achievement against agreed timelines. Deliver support through online learning platforms and learner management systems. Contribute to online learning sessions and encourage high standards of IPS practice.
Ensure all assessment activities comply with awarding organisation requirements and quality standards. Participate in quality assurance processes, standardisation activities and continuous programme improvement. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Employment Specialist with a strong understanding of the IPS model and experience supporting people with serious mental health conditions and/or drug and alcohol support needs.
They will be highly organised, confident using digital tools, and skilled at providing supportive, structured feedback. The successful individual will be passionate about developing others, committed to quality and learner success, and comfortable working independently within a remote or blended learning environment. Experience assessing vocational qualifications and a recognised assessor qualification would be advantageous.
