The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills in operations, electrical maintenance, industrial maintenance, and equipment operation, along with a commitment to excellence and public service. Additional valued qualifications may strengthen an application but are not required. Essential To be considered for this position, applicants must demonstrate the following: Graduation from a recognized postsecondary Engineering Technology diploma program, specializing in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Environmental, or Civil Engineering Technology (or a related discipline), or possession of a Red Seal Plumber certification.

Candidates must attain certification through provincially administered program. It is expected the incumbent to obtain their level 1 certification at the end of the second year. Valid Class V NB Driver's license. Applicants selected for an interview may be asked to participate in job related. testing that includes entering an underground vault and wearing an SCBA. A clear Criminal Record Check including a Vulnerable Sector Check, as well as a clear Driver's Abstract, are required as conditions of employment.

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered where they provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential duties of the position. Knowledge of occupation hazards and safe work habits to work in a busy municipal environment. Be able to work a Monday to Friday work week with an on-call rotation that requires evening, night, weekend and holiday hours. Class 3 with E endorsement considered an asset. Strong desire to work on a team to accomplish goals. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with employees and the public.

Physical strength and agility to complete strenuous laboring tasks. Knowledge of tools, equipment, methods, codes and materials. Ability to speak in both official languages would be considered an asset. What You'll Do Operate and maintain the wastewater treatment plant and related equipment, sensors, pumps, motors, and other industry related equipment. Inspect, clean and maintain sewage lift stations, wet wells, screening/grit collectors, valve chambers, and rotating equipment.

Operate de-watering systems efficiently. Install, calibrate and troubleshooting variable frequency drives, motor controllers, process/control equipment. Maintain electrical systems, troubleshooting as needed and install new equipment. Maintain records using computer data entry, and organization of data. Maintain and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers and related equipment. Using SCADA monitor, investigate and determine process functions are working optimally and make process changes as needed Use and have knowledge of personal protective equipment and use the equipment provided by the employer.

Complete sample collection and laboratory tasks to ensure plant operation is effective. Interaction with the public, contractors and other municipal staff as required. Required to work in all weather conditi
