This is a full-spectrum urology position involving robotic surgery, OR procedures, inpatient consults, and high-acuity emergency coverage .
This is a fast-paced, procedure-heavy role ideal for urologists comfortable managing independent call coverage across a busy multi-site hospital system. Schedule Full-Time Coverage (block-based scheduling) 24-hour call (beeper call model) Clinic Hours (when assigned): Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Call Coverage Blocks Include: May 15–May 18 June 1–June 12 June 22–June 26 July 1–July 10 (multiple blocks) July 13–July 20 July 27–July 31 August 3–August 10 August 17–August 28 August 31–September 7 Call Burden: ~2–6 hours callback/day Setting: Hospital + OR + occasional clinic support Clinical Responsibilities Provide 24-hour urology call coverage for inpatient and ED consults Perform a wide range of urologic procedures including: Cystoscopy and stent placement Ureteroscopy Lithotripsy Vasectomy and vasectomy reversal Prostate procedures Orchiopexy (select cases) Penile procedures (including implants, rare) Support robotic surgery program (if part of practice) Manage emergent cases (e.g., torsion, acute obstruction) Supervise APPs (new NP/PA support staff) Collaborate across multiple hospital sites Practice Details Setting: Level I Trauma Hospital EMR: Epic OR Access: 16 total ORs (York Hospital + Apple Hill Surgery Center) Support Staff: MAs, RN, CSA team available in clinic settings Average Volume: 24–28 patients/day (clinic when assigned) Patient Population: Adult (18+; rare pediatric emergency exceptions) Scope: Full general urology with advanced surgical exposure Requirements Board Certified or Board Eligible in Urology Active Pennsylvania license preferred (for faster start) DEA required Minimum 1 year experience required Comfortable with independent call coverage and high-acuity cases Strong procedural and surgical urology skills Additional Information Credentialing timeframe: ~90 days (temporary privileges available for clean files) EPIC EMR High-acuity trauma setting with robust surgical infrastructure Structured block scheduling for predictable coverage planning Why This Opportunity?
