As a leading Supported Living Company, we are actively seeking dedicated and caring individuals to join our team as In-Home Caregivers. Here Is What You Will Do: The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for providing direct support services to individuals with developmental disabilities in a manner that promotes independence, dignity, choice, community inclusion, and personal growth. DSPs assist participants in developing daily living skills, achieving individualized goals, and maintaining safe and healthy living environments.

The DSP provides individualized support tailored to the needs, preferences, and goals of each participant while fostering self-advocacy, relationship building, community integration, and skill development. The DSP’s goal is to provide world class, person centered services and support to the individuals that they support. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND STANDARDS   Assist, support, and teach participants in activities of daily living and independent living skills.

Support participants with preparation and participation in daytime, recreational, vocational, and community activities. Encourage and promote good personal hygiene, healthy habits, and appropriate behavior within home and community settings. Be Medication Certified and able to pass medications. Assist participants with budgeting skills and money management as appropriate. Assist participants with grocery shopping, menu planning, meal preparation, household cleaning, and daily chores.

Ensure that participants' homes are cleaned and organized. Teach and support participants in developing problem-solving, conflict resolution, and interpersonal relationship skills. Support participants in accessing and utilizing community resources, public transportation, and community organizations of their choice. Provide opportunities for participants to make choices and participate in decisions regarding daily living and future goals.

Encourage participant empowerment, independence, self-esteem, and self-advocacy. Assist participants in developing natural supports and meaningful community relationships. Provide leisure and recreational opportunities based on participant interests and preferences. Teach and support self-management skills related to health, behavior, safety, and wellness. Implement individual service plans, behavior support plans, and treatment plans consistently and accurately.

Complete required documentation including daily logs, data collection, progress notes, and shift communication in accordance with agency standards. Communicate participant concerns, behavioral changes, incidents, and significant updates to the QIDP, Administrator, or supervisory staff. Respond appropriately to emergency situations and utilize approved crisis intervention techniques when necessary and according to agency policy.

Assist with participant transportation to appointments, activities, and community outings as necessary. Maintain a safe work environment and follow OSHA and agency safety standards. Report all suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, or other reportable incidents in accordance with agency policy and state requirements. Attend all required training, monthly staff meetings, and annual continuing education requirements.

Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and participant dignity in all interactions. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.   QUALIFICATIONS   Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. High school diploma, GED, or demonstrated ability
