Term: January 2027   Duration: 8 months, with possibility of extension   Openings: 1 position   Salary Range: $3,650 - $4,525 CAD per month   Application Deadline: Monday, October 5, 2026, at 9:30 AM PDT     Your Opportunity By joining the Kardium team, you can help make a difference in the lives of millions around the world. We have developed a ground-breaking medical device for the diagnosis and treatment of the most common heart rhythm disorder, atrial fibrillation – which can cause stroke, heart failure, and other heart-related complications.

Kardium’s mission is to deliver the best treatment for atrial fibrillation. To achieve this, we have developed The Globe® Pulsed Field System – we have a fantastic technical team that has developed a product with strong, unique, and customer-valued differentiators versus other solutions on the market. We have built connections with key opinion leaders who are already using the Globe System and are helping to tell our story.

We have obtained FDA and Health Canada approval and officially begun the commercial launch of the Globe® Pulsed Field System. This is a pivotal and exciting time in our journey, as we bring this life-changing technology to patients! As a member of the FPGA team, you will get hands-on experience in the development and commercialization of complex and leading-edge medical devices. The electronics includes FPGAs, high-speed digital circuits, precision analog signals, RF power and high voltage pulse generation.  Small-signal analog inputs are analyzed in real time while either RF or high-voltage pulsed power is delivered to the target heart tissue.

Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC. What You Will Experience You will engage in activities that develop practical and transferable skills such as: Digital logic design in VHDL/Verilog (e.g. synthesizable circuits for FPGAs) Digital logic design using block diagrams in Vivado Verifying the digital logic designs using testbenches Verifying and troubleshoot the FPGA designs through board-level testing Developing designs with an embedded soft-core processor (MicroBlaze, Zynq) Understanding the TCL script used to synthesize with the Xilinx (AMD) tools Data analysis (e.g.

analysis of test data in MATLAB and documentation of results) System-level testing and debugging of prototypes and preproduction units What You Bring to the Team Our Kardium team is smart, creative, and passionate about creating cutting-edge medical devices to help improve people’s lives. We work within a collaborative environment based on trust and respect. And we understand that only by working together can we solve the unsolvable.

You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes: A solid understanding of the programmable logic design flow (FPGAs) Experience with writing hardware description languages such as VHDL, and Verilog Experience with Xilinx tools such as ISE, XPS, Vivado, etc. A good understanding of basic electronics theory Excellent communication and documentation skills Positive, proactive attitude and able to execute tasks with an appropriate level of independence Enthusiastic about seeking innovative solutions to unforeseen challenges Demonstrated success working in a team setting Why Work at Kardium?
