The Opportunity Paperless Parts is seeking an experienced, operationally focused Senior Accounting Manager to lead our day-to-day accounting functions in Boston. In this role, you will take full ownership of our core financial operations, managing general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll review and reconciliation, and annual external audit processes. As a player-coach, you will directly supervise and mentor a Staff Accountant, establishing high standards for financial hygiene, internal controls, and US GAAP compliance.
Working cross-functionally across the business, you will optimize accounting workflows and deliver timely, accurate financial reporting to support leadership decision-making. What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months) Close Acceleration & Accuracy: Streamline month-end close workflows to consistently deliver accurate, GAAP-compliant financial statements within target timelines. Team Leadership & Development: Onboard, mentor, and effectively manage the daily output of the Staff Accountant across AP, AR, and GL reconciliations.
Audit Execution: Lead annual external audit readiness, coordinating schedules and deliverables to achieve clean audits with minimal external findings. Key Responsibilities Operational Accounting Leadership: Oversee full-cycle day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining strict adherence to US GAAP, ASC 606 revenue recognition principles, and internal controls. Team Management & Development: Direct, mentor, and review the work of one Staff Accountant, overseeing their execution across accounts payable, receivable, cash receipts, and reconciliations.
Month-End Close Management: Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close procedures, reviewing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statements. Payroll & Cash Review: Partner with HR to review and approve periodic payroll processing, ensuring proper general ledger allocations, precise tax entry posting, and bank reconciliations. Audit & Tax Coordination: Serve as the primary lead for external auditors and tax preparers, managing audit workpaper generation, supporting documentation, and compliance filings.
Process Optimization: Optimize accounting software, internal control systems, and automated financial workflows to support organizational scale. Qualifications & Experience Core Requirements Professional Certification: Active CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation. ERP System Mastery: Hands-on proficiency and direct operational experience utilizing NetSuite ERP. Accounting Leadership: Demonstrated capability leading core accounting operations, month-end close execution, and technical US GAAP accounting (including ASC 606).
People Management: Direct experience supervising, mentoring, or reviewing the work of junior accounting professionals. Location: Ability to work a hybrid schedule out of our Boston HQ. Preferred Qualifications Industry Experience: Direct accounting leadership experience within a high-growth B2B SaaS or technology venture. Advanced Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and complex reconciliation management in Excel.
Salary range: $130,000 - $188,000 The job posting range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.
