Help Drive Smarter Financial Decisions Merchants Fleet is looking for a Financial Analyst to join our FP&A team and play a key role in managing and improving our near-term cash flow forecasting process. Reporting to an FP&A Business Partner and ultimately supporting the VP of FP&A, you’ll own the company’s 13-week cash flow forecast—a critical tool that helps inform capital allocation decisions at the highest levels of the organization.
This is more than a reporting role. You’ll bring together financial data from Financial Operations, FP&A, Treasury, and business teams to develop a deep understanding of how the business operates and translate that knowledge into a defensible, KPI-driven forecast. You’ll work with colleagues across the organization and have exposure to senior leaders, including members of the executive leadership team.

What Your Week Looks Like Own the 13-Week Cash Flow Forecast Update and maintain Merchants Fleet’s 13-week cash flow model using historical collections, disbursements, vehicle purchases and dispositions, and debt facility activity.
Reconcile forecast activity against the company’s actual closing cash position. Perform variance analysis, identify key drivers, and clearly communicate significant differences to the FP&A Business Partner and VP of FP&A. Adjust projections based on actual results and insights from partner teams, while explaining changes from the prior forecast. Monitor collections, disbursements, and Fleet/Mobility debt facility movements throughout the week and proactively investigate variances.
Repeat and refine the forecasting process each week to ensure accuracy and reliability. Partner Across the Business Work closely with Financial Operations to ensure collections and Accounts Payable disbursement forecasts accurately reflect current customer behavior. Partner with Treasury to understand historical and expected movements within Merchants Fleet’s asset-backed debt facilities and incorporate those movements into the forecast.
Collaborate with FP&A Business Partners to understand the fundamental drivers behind the P&L forecast and how they flow into cash projections. Build strong relationships across Finance and the broader organization to improve the quality and timeliness of financial information. Become a Trusted Business Expert Develop a strong understanding of Merchants Fleet’s business model and how operational activity flows through the company’s financial systems and data.
Identify opportunities to make forecasting faster, more accurate, and more scalable, with an emphasis on automating manual processes. Build financial scenarios that help business leaders understand the potential cash flow impact of strategic and operational decisions. Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for audiences across the organization.
What You Bring 1–3 years of experience in finance, preferably in FP&A, investments, banking, or a similar analytical environment. Experience with forecasting based on underlying business fundamentals. Familiarity with ABS securitization financing and structures. Strong understanding of financial concepts and an interest in structured finance or securitization products.
Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Exposure to transportation, automotive, or logistics is a plus, but not required.
