The technical challenge: Building a secure, reliable payments product requires solving complex problems at the intersection of fintech infrastructure, security, user experience, and regulatory compliance. You'll work with real-time transaction processing, fraud detection, payment network integrations, and systems that need to be both fast and bulletproof.

Job Description Privacy.com is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to scale to meet the needs of our growth.
You will split your time between being hands on coding as well as demonstrate technical leadership in evolving the platform for scale. You'll become an expert in card payments, solve distributed systems problems at scale, make architectural and product decisions, and mentor other engineers. The team is distributed across the US and Europe. The stack is predominantly NodeJS, DocumentDB and hosted in AWS.
Job responsibilities: Ensure high reliability and correctness for Privacy.com card processing Understand the challenges of the current system and propose step function changes to future architecture Drive large multi-month initiatives and roadmap. Ensure that the team is delivering reliable, secure, and scalable code. Lead efforts to improve system and processes within the team and across engineering Help drive strategic planning in collaboration with engineering, product, and cross-functional leaders.
