Location: Hong Kong Type: Full Time Internship (June 1, 2027 - August 31, 2027) The Role Help build the technology behind Nex Playground—where games, computer vision, consumer hardware, and cloud services come together to get families moving. The Platform Software Engineering (PSWE) team owns the core platform powering every Playground experience. As a Platform Software Engineer Intern, you’ll own a meaningful project, make real technical decisions, and ship software with visible impact.
A dedicated mentor and engineers across the Nex team will support you from design through launch. What You'll Build Your project will match your strengths and interests while solving a real team need. You may: Ship a new capability for PlayOS, Play Services, or the cloud platform. Build an API, service, developer tool, or delivery automation used by other teams. Improve performance and reliability using testing, logs, metrics, and telemetry.
Debug problems across device, network, backend, and cloud boundaries. Take your work from idea to launch: design, build, test, document, and measure it. Should Have Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university. Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field. Strong programming fundamentals, problem-solving skills, and a learning mindset.
Experience with at least one language or runtime such as Kotlin/Java, C/C++, Go, Python, TypeScript/Node.js. Clear communication, collaboration, and care for software quality. Nice To Have Experience with Android, Linux, embedded systems, or device software. Familiarity with backend services, APIs, databases, distributed systems, or Google Cloud Platform. Exposure to CI/CD, containers, release automation, monitoring, testing, or performance optimization.
Genuine interest in building platform software that connects devices, cloud services, and player experiences. Curiosity about one or more of these areas: Android or embedded systems, backend and distributed systems, developer infrastructure, games, or technology that helps people be active together. Enthusiasm for learning across technical boundaries and understanding how a feature works end to end.
