Akima Support Operations is looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator to work in Fort Hood, TX. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today! Responsibilities Operators operate heavy equipment such as cranes, clamshells, power shovels, motor graders, heavy loaders, carryalls, bulldozers, rollers, scrapers, and large industrial tractors with pan or scrapper attachments. Operators use equipment to excavate, load, or move dirt, gravel, or other materials.

Operators may read and interpret grade and slope stakes and simple plans, and may grease, adjust and make emergency repairs to equipment. Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching. Work environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions.

Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.

Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 investigation and obtain/maintain a CAC. Desired Qualifications:   Knowledgeable in U.S. Army maintenance procedures. U.S. Army 88M series MOS qualification or civilian equivalent. Valid Commercial Driver’s License. Valid Driver's License. High School Diploma / GED. Pay & Benefits: Hourly Compensation: $22.57. Hourly Health & Welfare: $5.09 Differential pay for night shift work will range from $1 up to 10% of base hourly rate.
