About This Opportunity The Tax Manager will serve as a senior individual contributor to provide day-to-day support for InComm’s Australian businesses tax needs. You will play a key role and work directly with our domestic Controller, Global Vice President of Tax, and domestic business leaders to provide tactical tax accounting support and consultation and oversight of domestic tax compliance.
We need a hands-on tax accountant with deep knowledge of Australian commercial tax. The ideal candidate will also have experience supporting corporations that serve within IT, digital technology, and Software as a Service (SaaS). This is a 12-month, fixed-term position. Our Finance team in Richmond VIC follow a hybrid working model. Responsibilities Provide day-to-day support of the Australia businesses tax needs Project manage individual tax projects and workflows with internal resources, business and 3 rd party service providers Address errors in tax set-up of Billing transactions & ensure billing documents comply with tax regulations Review end-to-end business model and transaction flow and address gaps in tax treatment of all transactions Implement process that maintains compliance with tax rules Manage and address tax inquiries from the ATO and other regulatory bodies.
Reconcile and track recoverable tax transactions Perform income tax accounting, support transfer pricing and support other reporting/compliance tax needs such as Pillar II Absorb recurring income and transaction tax accounting and tax return processes from external agencies Maintain reconciliation of income tax balance sheet accounts between the native and US GAAP general ledger Lead the transition of billing and accounting systems and process to enterprise solutions.
Assist with the implementation of non-structural tax planning strategies, which maximize savings on a defensible basis. Participate in the creation of proposed transactions to properly advise management of tax consequences. Support the Federal income tax integration of business acquisitions, dispositions and restructurings. Participate in process improvements and system enhancements for tax compliance Manage and deliver multiple high-priority projects on time, keeping the tax team informed with relevant updates.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Tax, Accounting, or related field (advanced degree and/or CPA preferred). 7+ years of experience in Australian corporate taxation and demonstrated experience with ATO audits and reviews Demonstrated expertise in analyzing and interpreting tax rulings, and regulations The ability to interpret complex tax issues and provide practical, commercially focused advice A strong understanding of tax governance, risk management and internal controls Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of projects and work with minimal supervision.
