Ensure that the store culture embodies Staples values and its commitment to the community Develop a high-performing team focused on providing an exceptional store experience, consultative selling, driving conversions and providing total solutions to every customer  Develop team to deliver results through coaching, training, and role playing  Attain sales and services goals, profit margin and execution of store operations Establish business cadence for sales readiness  Provide direction daily for merchandising opportunities within the store  Assist with delegating operational tasks in partnership with the GM  Shared responsibility for total store operations and cost control as well as acting as the Floor Leader Champion company initiatives, being adaptable and flexible to change and responsibilities Essential skills and experience: 2+ years managing a sales team in a retail or services industry Experience managing and coaching a team in a customer-centric, solutions-based environment Must be able to engage and speak to customers and understand their needs Strong communication, organization, planning and adaptive to changing business priorities  Review results against business goals and strategies and deliver plans for growth and improvement  Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information Ability to work cooperatively in a high paced and sometimes stressful environment Ability to lift/move materials in the 10 - 50 pound range, climb ladders, stand and walk continuously Preferred skills and experience: Experience using financial metrics to track sales progress to drive profitable sales and margins  Ability to network and engage with the community Staples does not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.
