Job Summary: Maintenance of all equipment and physical structures in compliance with corporate/franchise standards, local, state and national codes and regulations to protect the asset and guests, to ensure optimum operations, minimize expenses, and maximize guest satisfaction. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned): Touch-up paint, woodwork, and furniture Repair wall vinyl Replace batteries in remotes, verify electrical outlets work, replace light bulbs as needed Check operation of TV, telephones, clock, in-room safe, HSIA Inspect and tighten all hardware (e.g., shower curtain rod, towel racks, furniture handles) Spot-clean carpet and upholstery Clean HVAC unit and replace filters Clear drains (shower and sink) Clean and replace caulk in bathtub and counter top vanity Check water pressure and temperature Report damage and submit work service requests for time-consuming repairs Flipping mattresses Moving furniture Major mechanical, electrical, or plumbing repair Extensive drywall repair Painting entire ceilings or walls Re-grouting entire tile floors or tub surrounds.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. At least 3 to 5 years of maintenance experience required. LANGUAGE SKILLS Must be able to communicate clearly with guests, customers, supervisors and fellow associates. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Must be able to calculate amounts and apply basic addition, subtraction and multiplication. REASONING ABILITY Must be able to analyze invoice data to make appropriate judgments regarding maintenance duties CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Certificates or equivalent in electrical, heating/air conditioning, HVAC-R, carpentry, plumbing, refrigerant recovery/handling preferred.
C.F.C. Certificate preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Practice written safety standards and rules at all times. HOURS Due to the business demands of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the hotel provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any associate may be required to work rotating shifts, including weekends and night shifts.
